I have posted here before seeking participants for my research on parenting and special education. Now my research findings are available in Distinguishing Disability: Parents, Privilege, and Special Education.
As parents with children in special education know, advocating for a child with special needs can be an uphill battle. This book shows the ways in which parents’ efforts often depend on their cultural and economic resources. This is a sensitive topic, but one that, experience tells me, many parents with kids in special education want to think about, so that we can make progress toward an educational system that truly provides for all students’ needs.
