As if things weren’t bad enough, tonight I realized the school changed my son’s eligibility after our meeting (“they couldn’t print the IEP) and then falsified that I got a copy. My copy has that they will forward me a copy. The new copy I just got says one was given to me!
What should I do?
Re: school falsified IEP
i was already filing a complaint about the other eligibility…not this new illegal one! I need an attorney. I want to go due process at this point. Anyone know how to find one pro-bono? I’ve been searching online all night. And emailing ones I’m sure I can’t afford lol…oh well.

Check with your local advocacy group. They often have listings of attorneys who will do sliding scale or pro-bono work.
Re: school falsified IEP
My goodness, calm down. The school division did not execute their own procedures. Give the Principal of the school a call and inform them of what happened. I’ll wager a bet this was unintended. Probably an automated IEP system that made a mistake and the teacher was just trying to fix the problem. In good faith she should have called you and explain all this to you. I see no need for complaints, advocates, and what not in the advice you are being given. Please don’t swallow elephants and choke on gnats.
Its a good thing you have it documented! I would make a copy of each and forward it to the special ed department of your school district. Let them know that this needs to be corrected immediately or you will file with the state.
